Meet the Founder: Caitlyn Godwin
Hi everyone! I'm Caitlyn Godwin A.K.A (Cait), the dreamer, and creator behind It's CompliCaited Boutique. Allow me to share a bit about my journey and how this passion project came to life.
The Early Days: Born and raised in Virginia, I ventured into the world of fashion with wide-eyed excitement. I pursued my degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design at Virginia Tech, fueled by a deep passion for style and a dream of making a mark in the fashion industry.
The Pandemic Graduation: Graduating in the midst of a pandemic brought unexpected challenges. My internships were canceled, and the job market seemed impenetrable. The fashion world, once so inviting, suddenly felt distant and indifferent. Despite my education and background experience, I lacked the further extensive experience employers sought, leaving me at a crossroads.
The Birth of It's CompliCaited Boutique: In the face of adversity, inspiration struck. I realized that the challenges I faced were not unique to me but echoed the struggles of many women. The idea for It's CompliCaited Boutique was born out of a desire to create a space where fashion met empowerment, where size inclusivity wasn't just a buzzword but a guiding principle.
Size Inclusivity Matters: My frustration grew as I navigated a fashion landscape that often overlooked the beauty of diverse bodies. It became clear that the industry needed a change – a brand that celebrated every woman, irrespective of size or shape. It was time to redefine beauty standards and empower women to embrace their bodies with confidence.
A Leap of Faith: With passion as my fuel and a vision in my heart, I took a leap of faith.
